Want a plan you can write in? The 2027 Budget Planner Printable (my own product, made with AI assistance) has a debt list, snowball/avalanche guide, two payoff trackers and 12 monthly budgets. Use code LAUNCH30 for 30% off while it lasts.
How the two methods work
Debt snowball: pay the minimum on every debt, then put every spare pound or dollar on the smallest balance. When it is gone, roll its payment onto the next smallest. You get quick wins, which helps many people stay motivated.
Debt avalanche: same idea, but you attack the debt with the highest interest rate first. This normally costs the least interest overall and can be faster. The difference between the two depends on your balances and rates, which is why this calculator shows both.
Tips for paying off debt faster
Pay more than the minimum, even a small amount. Interest compounds on what you still owe.
Keep a small emergency buffer so a surprise bill doesn't push you back onto a card.
Cancel unused subscriptions and redirect that money to the target debt.
Always keep paying every minimum on time. Late fees undo your progress.
Where possible, avoid new interest-bearing debt altogether and aim for a debt-free life.
